FAQ

Frequently asked questions about Promise Tickets.

General

Is Promise Tickets free to use?

Creating an account and campaigns is free. Promise Tickets collects a 10% platform fee from patrons when a campaign converts. Producers keep 100% of the ticket face value.

Do I need an account to make a promise?

No. Patrons do not need a Promise Tickets account. You only need an email address and a payment card.

What payment methods are accepted?

Promise Tickets accepts any payment method supported by Stripe, including Visa, Mastercard, American Express, and Discover credit and debit cards.

For patrons

Will I be charged when I make a promise?

No. Your card is saved but not charged. You are only charged if the event reaches its threshold and the producer converts the campaign.

Can I cancel my promise?

Yes, at any time before the campaign is converted. See Cancelling a promise.

What if my card expires before the event?

If your card expires before the campaign converts, the charge will fail. To avoid this, cancel your current promise and make a new one with an updated card.

How do I get my tickets?

After a campaign converts and your card is charged, you receive a ticket confirmation email. Show this email at the door.

Can I get a refund after being charged?

Refunds are handled by the event producer through their Stripe account. Contact the producer directly. See Refunds.

For producers

Do I need Stripe to use Promise Tickets?

You can create and publish campaigns without Stripe. However, you need a connected Stripe account to convert a campaign and receive payouts.

Can I edit a published campaign?

Yes. You can edit an active campaign from your dashboard. All fields remain editable. When you save changes, patrons with active promises are notified by email about what changed. See Editing a campaign for details.

What if my campaign doesn't reach the threshold?

The campaign expires automatically at the deadline. No cards are charged. You can create a new campaign to try again.

How do I get paid?

After converting a campaign, your payout is sent to your connected Stripe account. Stripe deposits the funds to your bank account per their standard payout schedule (typically 2 business days for US accounts).

What happens if some charges fail during conversion?

Failed charges are tracked separately and don't block the conversion. You receive a summary showing successful and failed charges. Your payout is based only on successful charges.

Can I run multiple campaigns at the same time?

Yes. There is no limit to the number of active campaigns you can have.
